Our Specializations

Anger Management

Have you found that losing your temper has strained your relationships with loved ones and colleagues? Does anger tend to be your default response when feeling overwhelmed or misunderstood?

Anxiety is a natural response to stress, but when it becomes overwhelming and starts interfering with daily life, it's time to seek support. Anxiety counselling provides a safe and compassionate space to address the root causes of anxiety, learn coping strategies, and regain control over your thoughts and emotions.

Boundaries & People Pleasing

Have you been called “too nice” or “self-less”? Are you are the strong one who holds everyone together. Like a superhero, you swoop in and “save” everyone around you. While your the first to offer help, you’re the last to ask for it.

Christian Counselling

For individuals who cherish their Christian faith as a cornerstone of their identity, our counselors provide compassionate support rooted in a Christian worldview. With a deep understanding of spiritual and theological growth, our Christian counselors meet you wherever you are on your spiritual journey. Together, we navigate through the challenges you face, offering guidance and insight aligned with your faith.

While we all feel sad, moody or low from time to time, some people experience these feelings intensely, for long periods of time (weeks, months or even years) and sometimes without any apparent reason. Depression is more than just a low mood – it's a serious condition that has an impact on both physical and mental health.

Family therapy is a treatment designed to target certain issues that might affect the functioning and health of a family. Talking to a counsellor may be necessary to help a family through a difficult phase, behavioural or mental health problems, or a major life transition.

We offer counselling services for ICBC clients within the first 12 weeks from the date of their accident. If it has been longer than 12 weeks, services may still be approved. Please email us directly at

Loss & Grief

After losing a loved one, there is often a period of grief, mourning or bereavement. These feelings are an entirely normal response to loss. Together with your counsellor, they will help you navigate what may seem like one of the most challenging times in your life.

Perfectionism is often seen as a positive trait that increases your chances of success, but it can lead to self-defeating thoughts or behaviours that make it harder to achieve goals. It may also cause stress, anxiety, depression, and other mental health issues. People who strive for perfection out of feelings of inadequacy or failure may find it helpful to speak with a therapist; this can often help people manage excessive self-criticism.

Prenatal & Postpartum Concerns

Being a parent isn’t exactly what you thought it would be, is it? Perhaps your mind is swirling with worries. Maybe you catch yourself feeling unexpectedly angry at times.

It’s natural to feel afraid during and after a traumatic situation. Fear can trigger split-second changes in the body to help defend against danger or to avoid it. This “fight-or-flight” response is a typical reaction to protect a person from harm. Many people who go through traumatic events may have temporary difficulty adjusting and coping, but with time and good self-care, they usually get better. If the symptoms worsen, last for months or even years and interfere with your day-to-day functioning, you may have Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

Every relationship is unique, filled with its own joys, challenges, and complexities. At times, even the strongest of bonds can face hurdles that seem insurmountable. This is where relationship counselling steps in, offering a safe and supportive space to explore, understand, and enhance your connection.

Self-esteem is an integral feature of emotional health and well-being. When we have positive feelings about ourselves, we exude confidence and see ourselves as valuable. In most cases, others view and treat us in the same respect. However, when we have negative feelings about ourselves, we can be critical, contemptuous, and pessimistic. This behaviour can cause others to take this attitude toward us. Whether positive or negative, these thoughts contribute to our self-image and build our self-esteem.

Stress & Burnout

Throughout one’s lifetime, it’s typical to experience acute stress. Acute stress is a dramatic physiological and psychological reaction to a specific event. However, not all responses to stress are confined to a particular event. Chronic stress is characterized by a consistent sense of feeling pressured and overwhelmed over a long period. If you are experiencing debilitating symptoms, there are ways to manage and help you get through them.

Trauma counselling can assist with various internal emotional reactions to challenging situations. Not all people are alike; therefore, some experience these events as more traumatic than others and will need help coping with the emotional burden. Identifying a life event as a ‘trauma’ can be challenging. In addition, it can be even more difficult to recall those events and talk through them as it may be a traumatising experience all over again.

Workplace & Career Difficulties

In today’s society, the workplace has become an extension of who you are. It’s a place that allows you to pursue your passions and develop your skills. But with that, the workplace has also become increasingly stressful for many people, and it's no surprise that it can lead to poor health. When stress occurs, your health becomes more affected. Finding a low-stress job might be difficult because stress is common in any workplace. Instead, focusing on effective strategies to reduce your stress at work would be a more practical choice.

"Could not be happier with the sessions I have had with Kolby. The environment is calm and comfortable. His approach allows for amazing self discovery with accountability. This has been beyond helpful. Kolby does a very good job of reading each session and moving with the natural flow of things as opposed to sticking with a scripted plan. This has allowed a lot of progress. I would highly recommend Kolby for relationships that need a bit of help."
