Struggles with body image and disordered eating can be overwhelming, isolating, and emotionally exhausting. "Why Do I Struggle So Much With My Body?"
Do you feel like no matter what you do, your body is never “good enough”? Are eating habits becoming rigid, obsessive, or emotionally charged? Body image issues often go far beyond appearance—they can stem from deeper feelings of shame, control, or trauma. If you experience:
- Constant self-criticism or comparison about your body
- Binge eating, restricting, purging, or compulsive exercise
- Guilt or anxiety after eating
- Avoiding mirrors, photos, or social situations because of how you feel about your body
- Feeling like your worth is tied to your weight or appearance
How Does Body Image & Eating Counselling Work?
Our approach combines compassion and evidence-based strategies to help you repair your relationship with food and your body.
- We begin by exploring the emotional, psychological, and societal factors driving disordered eating patterns.
- Therapy supports you in challenging perfectionism, shame, and harmful beliefs about self-worth.
- You’ll learn to identify triggers, manage emotions without turning to food, and reconnect with your body in a respectful way.
- Sessions are tailored to your unique experiences, and evolve as your healing progresses.
- Between sessions, you’ll be given gentle practices to support body neutrality, intuitive eating, and emotional regulation.
Counselling is offered on a pay-per-session basis to give you freedom and flexibility. For meaningful shifts in your relationship with food and self-image, we recommend starting with a minimum of 8 sessions.
