Cynthia holds a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University and a Bachelor of Arts in Linguistics from Queen’s University. With a wealth of experience in supporting youth across diverse settings, including educational programs, alternative schools, and non-profit organizations, Cynthia brings a rich background to her counselling practice. Before transitioning into counselling, Cynthia dedicated herself to teaching English to adult ESL learners, tutoring immigrants for the Canadian citizenship test, and instructing youth in reading and writing. Her commitment to education and language development has enhanced her skills in clear communication and empathetic guidance. Passionate about fostering healthy family and couple dynamics, Cynthia specializes in helping clients build stronger, more cohesive relationships within their homes. She is dedicated to empowering individuals to feel confident and capable, while equipping them with the skills to enhance their interpersonal connections.
“As a therapist, I truly value the opportunity to join each client on their personal journey. I approach our work together with curiosity, recognizing that you are the expert in your own life. Collaboration is key in our sessions, as it fosters safety, trust, and openness within our relationship. I bring my authentic self to our work, offering empathy, humility, and warmth. As humans, connection is essential for finding our inner courage to tackle life's challenges. My approach is holistic and strengths-based, focusing on empowering you through a collaborative and nonjudgmental exploration of your unique needs. I’m particularly interested in how interpersonal dynamics, attachment styles, and past experiences shape present behaviours and relationships. Through gentle, intentional exploration, I aim to help you connect more deeply with yourself, your needs, and your aspirations. I’m here to support you in building communication skills, establishing boundaries, and boosting your self-worth and self-esteem. You already have the resources you need to grow and change; my role is to provide the space for that process to unfold.”
