Mitchell holds a Master’s in Counselling from Acadia University, a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Psychology from St. Mary’s University, and a Bachelor of Education from Acadia University. He is a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC) and Registered Counselling Therapist-Candidate (RCT-C), with experience as both a private practice and school counsellor supporting youth and adults.
Mitchell centres his work on the client-therapist relationship, creating a safe, judgement-free space grounded in empathy, compassion, and playful curiosity. His approach is integrative, holistic, person-centred, and culturally responsive, drawing from narrative, existential, ACT, and mindfulness-based practices. He supports clients experiencing anxiety, depression, addiction, nervous system dysregulation, and life challenges related to emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual disconnection. Mitchell also welcomes spiritual exploration when it is meaningful to the client.
Mitchell brings over five years of experience participating in and facilitating men’s groups, supporting healthy masculinity and authentic self-understanding. Outside of counselling, he enjoys spending time with his family, fiancé, and two cats, Juice and Enoki, as well as camping, backpacking, trail running, reading, and maintaining a daily meditation practice.

"Navigating life isn’t always easy. Even with more comfort, convenience, and information at our fingertips than ever before, it’s still possible to feel stuck, lost, overwhelmed, or disconnected from ourselves. When life gets complicated, it can be easy to believe that we’re powerless to change our circumstances. I believe, however, that each of us has the capacity to grow, make meaningful changes, and find our way forward.
My role is to offer a compassionate, supportive space where you can reconnect with yourself and explore what matters most to you. I’m passionate about helping people develop a healthy and empowering relationship with their masculinity and femininity, in a way that feels authentic and true to who they are. I’m especially passionate about supporting men as they explore what healthy masculinity can look like in today’s world.
It’s an honour to walk alongside you in this process, and I don’t take that role lightly. Our work together can hold space for both depth and lightness—for the difficult conversations, but also for humour, curiosity, and moments of play. My hope is that you feel comfortable being fully yourself, knowing you’ll be met with compassion, respect, and without judgment."- Mitchell
